North Miami Mayor Alix Desulme was visiting Sierra Leone with other South Florida elected officials. He ended up having to leave the country after a medical emergency. Desulme arrived to New York City on Sunday morning, according to a statement from his office. The mayor, who was part of a joint delegation of South Florida officials to Africa, is now on the way to Washington D.C. When he arrives, he will receive treatment from a specialist. 'The mayor is talking and in good spirits,' spokesperson Brian Andrews said.
