OAKLAND PARK — A pedestrian died Monday evening after being struck by a Tri-Rail train in Oakland Park, officials say.The northbound P634 train with 155 people aboard collided with the pedestrian between Prospect Road and Commercial Boulevard shortly before 5:30 p.m., Victor Garcia, a spokesperson for South Florida Regional Transportation Authority, said in an email. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue Battalion Chief Steve Gollan said in a text message.A southbound Tri-Rail train took the passengers from the P634 train back north, and officials were coordinating a bus bridge between the Cypress Creek and Fort Lauderdale train stations to move passengers until the tracks are cleared, Garcia said.
