Broward County voters returned one county commissioner to office Tuesday, and elected two new ones.In the District 6 race, incumbent Beam Furr of Hollywood was challenged by Jeffery Jones, a cargo handler for a maritime association. Furr has been the commission leader on creating a trash alternative to Waste Management and the conscientious objector on moral issues such as not turning away a cruise ship with COVID patients at the start of the pandemic.Furr, who has been on the commission almost eight years, said he will continue to push for commuter rail expansion to improve public transportation.
